Our mission

Built to reduce preventable maternal and infant mortality.

Nurra started as research, not code. Here's the story of how 40+ conversations with real mothers became a product.

Why we started with interviews, not features.

It would have been faster to guess. Instead, months were spent talking to young Pakistani mothers — in different cities, from different income levels, at different stages of motherhood — about what actually kept them up at night.

A full thematic analysis was run on every conversation. The patterns, not assumptions, defined what Nurra became. Three needs came up again and again: trustworthy answers at any hour, a way to keep track of a child's health without relying on memory, and other mothers who understood exactly what they were going through.

From conversation to product

01

Listen

40+ in-depth interviews with young Pakistani mothers, across different cities, income levels, and stages of motherhood.

02

Analyze

A full thematic analysis of every conversation — patterns extracted, not assumptions imposed.

03

Build

Three validated needs became three core features: an AI assistant, health tracking, and community.

04

Validate

Every feature gets checked back against the research it came from before it ships.

What kept coming up, conversation after conversation

Recurring themes synthesized from the research — patterns across many conversations, not a single quote.

The 2am question

Almost every mother described a moment of panic late at night with no one to ask — a fever, a rash, a feeding question — and Google giving ten contradictory answers.

Missed and forgotten checkups

Vaccination and growth-checkup schedules were tracked on paper, in memory, or not at all — and life made it easy for a checkup to slip by unnoticed.

Isolation, not lack of care

New mothers weren't short on love for their babies — they were short on other mothers to talk to who understood exactly what they were going through, right now.
